Who We Are
The Catch the Act club is a student-led activist organization founded in 2020. Our goal is to combat human trafficking by educating our fellow students and community and raising money. We have partnered with local and international businesses to help spread our message. Human trafficking is an issue close to our hearts, as our city of Charlotte is plagued by sex trafficking. In particular, our school is less than half a mile from a hotspot of human trafficking.
What We Do
WHY?
Human trafficking is a massive issue in our community, with North Carolina ranked #9 in terms of reported human trafficking cases in the United States and Charlotte being the #1 city in NC.
WHAT?
We bring in guest speakers to our school to educate our peers. We also send funds to an international nonprofit program, Joy International, that funds raids on human trafficking operations.
